How do I maintain compliance after initial mitigation?

We offer subscription maintenance packages, including:

Is ongoing certification required?

Yes, annual maintenance reviews are required. Choose between self-evaluation with photos ($25) or a third-party evaluation ($100). Recertification is needed every three years.

WILDFIRE PREPARED HOME DESIGNATION PROCESS

Step 1:

Prepare your home using the official checklist.

Remove all vegetation and combustible material within 5 feet of the home.

Submit photos of all four sides showing the noncombustible buffer.

Step 2:

Apply and submit eligibility photos at wildfireprepared.org.

Pay the $125 application fee (nonrefundable).

Step 3:

Photo review and third-party evaluation.

If eligible, a third-party evaluator will visit your home.

Step 4:

Receive your designation certificate or a list of additional required actions.

You’ll have 90 days to complete any additional work if needed.

Step 5:

Maintain your designation with annual reviews and recertification every 3 years.
